About High Peaks Twirlers

High Peaks Twirlers was started in September 2011 by former director Mindy Hurd. In September 2018 Kristina Getty took over the team. Our mission is to provide recreational and competitive baton twirling opportunities to the youth of Boulder County.

We offer classes and private lessons to students ages 4-college. Our twirlers perform in a variety of local venues, including local parades, the Boulder Creek Festival, and a variety of holiday performances. We’ve won several awards for our parade performances over the years, including first place in the Drill Team division at the Louisville Labor Day Parade (September 2014).

Some of our twirlers also choose to compete in local, regional and national competitions. High Peaks Twirlers often place well in their respective divisions. We also offer two competitive twirling teams: dance twirl team and show twirl team.

Our twirlers work their way through the levels of baton twirling in a consistent and disciplined manner. We place a high emphasis on learning correct technique right from the start. Our twirlers also learn how to perform in a variety of locations and the value of good sportsmanship through competition.

High Peaks Twirlers also know how to have fun together! We have team events throughout the year, such as movie nights, our annual summer BBQ, and December recital and party.
